White Guide cafés and cozy adventures in the perfect combination for families with children. Halland “fika” at its very best!
Day 1, Arrival
Stay at a campsite close to the sea – sleeping in a tent or camping is a little adventure in itself. Around Halmstad, there are many seaside campsites, for example Haverdals camping, located right next to the nature reserve. The sea is warmest late in the evening at this time of year, so make the most of the Friday feeling with an evening swim at the beach, perhaps a round of mini golf or a walk through the Troll Forest. Over the years, the forces of nature have twisted the pine trees, making the area both beautiful and exciting.

Day 2
Start the day with a fantastic mid-morning fika at Feldts på Skolberget. In the old school building, creativity and love are the key ingredients – you can taste it in the buns, sourdough bread, caramels, and ice cream. There’s plenty of space in the café, so you can linger; perhaps your fika turns into lunch, and before you know it, you’re ready for the day’s biggest adventure.
Drive towards Laholmskrokarna and spend the afternoon at Kungsbyggets Adventure Park, where you can try ziplining, high ropes courses, summer toboggan runs, and other exciting challenges. There are activities suitable for most ages! On your way there or back, stop in Laholm. Stroll along the beautiful old streets and squares. Enjoy a fika at Bröd & Co. A visit to Teckningsmuséet is a great idea: here you’ll find inspiring illustration art and a large, welcoming studio that is always open for creative children.

End the day by grilling corn and marshmallows over an open fire on the beach. Wrap your sweaters tightly around you and search for seashells – or maybe even a shooting star, depending on how dark it has become.

Day 3
After breakfast, head north towards Slöinge and the charming Solhaga – an artisan bakery with fantastic buns and a lovely garden. Perhaps you’d also like to visit SIA-glass, Berte museum, or the farm shops Mostorp and Gudmundsgården nearby?

Not done with adventures yet? Head south and spend the rest of the afternoon canoeing on the beautiful Hjörnered Lakes in Laholm. If you’d rather go north, get your pulse racing by climbing the radio towers together with a guide at the World Heritage Site Grimeton, just outside Varberg. Finish with radio cake and coffee – and your weekend is complete!
