Tjolöholm Castle
Just south of Kungsbacka, on a headland by the sea, lies Tjolöholm Castle — one of Halland’s most distinctive cultural heritage sites. The castle was built around the turn of the 20th century and houses art, architecture and design with influences from the Arts and Crafts movement.

The Tjolöholm natural areas stretch around the castle with trails through forest, pasture and open views toward the sea. The walks are easily accessible and varied, with landscapes typical of Halland.
Nearby Fjärås Bräcka nature reserve offers deeper forest exploration, an interactive nature center, shelters, and unique views over both lake and sea.

In the old grain warehouse in Varberg’s harbour, regional art and genuine craftsmanship meet in a vibrant cultural environment just a stone’s throw from the town centre, neighbours including Varberg Fortress, the Cold Bath House and Societetshuset.
The four-storey building serves as a hub for creation where you can walk between exhibitions and see craft being made on site. Several studios are open year-round.

The Bonadsmuseum is located in the deep forests of Halland, right on the border of Småland. Here, nature is always close. Lace up your shoes and hike the Brunnsbackaleden trail – it starts at the museum in the local heritage park in Unnaryd and takes you around Lake Kroksjön. You’ll walk through the Ödegärdet nature reserve, which offers a true old-growth forest feel.

Just next to the square in Laholm is the Drawing Museum — the only museum in the Nordics dedicated to drawing. It houses international guest exhibitions as well as a large own collection of over 25,000 works spanning three centuries.
