We think that Kattegattleden is gorgeous, but we are not alone. At the Cycling & Hiking Fair in Utrecht in the Netherlands, Kattegattleden claimed top spot as ‘Cycling Track of the Year’ in 2018.
Anton Hübner, a Halland native left Sweden for Norway…only to return and discover how amazing Halland is.
You’ll find adventure for the whole family in Halland. There’s much for the kids to do. Bring them on a sheep safari or high altitude course high up among the trees. Test your appetite for thrills on the obstacle course, ride a zipline, or learn more about animals and nature on the nature reserve Fjärås Bräcka.
Discovering the interiors of Halland
If you thought Halland was gorgeous beaches and stunning coastline, you would have been somewhat right. You get the complete picture about Halland when you venture inland. The drive into the interiors is nothing less than enchanting. The hinterland forest trails lead to Halland’s only municipality – Hylte. All along the way, you will encounter charming little lakes, ideal for fishing.
Sweden's cycling history is rooted in Halland
The Kattegattleden in Halland has the distinction of being Sweden’s first national cycling trail. Not surprisingly, because Halland has been at the centre of Swedish cycling for over a hundred years now. Birger Svensson established the Svenska Cykeldepoten in Varberg in 1908 with a view to giving all Swedes access to affordable personal transportation. The company’s cycles became popular under the brand name of Monark, and it wasn’t long before Monark become Europe’s largest selling brand of cycles.

You have a cushy desk job, a good family life, a trusted pension plan.
