The sea is an obvious part of the allure of Halland. When I travel across the world, I always look for places with beautiful vibes. I found once such place in Varberg and that has made me come back year after year. It’s also the same feeling that led me relocate here.

Erik Ruth is a philosopher from Örebro in central Sweden. After living several seasons up in the mountains, he bought a surf bus to drive all the way to Biarritz in the French Basque country. His passion for the Hallandian coast ignited when he took a break on his road trip and stopped next to several other surf buses. That was seven years ago. He now he lives in Varberg and runs Nordic Surfers, an event management company which organises the trendy Hallifornia festival, among others.
